First- I would like to give a shout out to ma famille. Below is a picture of us on our vacation last summer in Burlington, VT.

I love them so much and words cannot express how thankful I have them in my life. There would be no “food on my table” if it was not for their love and support.

Second- Shari from Whisk Blog food blog tagged me! I am so honored!

6/25-Update: Baltimore Sun Article by Mr. Rob Kasper with a summary of our experiences! Check it out!

Friday night was a momentous one for me and my little blog. I got to meet some of the other “famous” (in my eyes) blogging foodie baltimorons! AND we got to go flavor tripping, aka eating a miracle fruit and see its glorious effects on our tastebuds!

There is a picture of the wee little fruit that had so much power over my tongue when it came to acidic foods!

We had crabs last night! From Gibby’s Seafood and they were DELICIOUS! Every time I eat them I end up sitting next to dear sweet Daddy and he guides me on how to dissect them correctly. I figured I would “document” this process for my own future benefit and for all ya’ll who aren’t Bal`more natives!
Step: 1 - Meet your prey…

Step 2 through 10..see below

Girlie Party + Thai Beef & Noodles May 4, 2008

Last night was the third installment of our Sex and the City girlie party! The first one I held right after I started grad school (circa 2005) and the second was in February as a “who cares about V-Day - I love my girlfriends! night.” It was about time to flex my “mad” (haha) baking skills! We ate all (well not allll) of those lovely desserts, I made a steak thai pasta dish from tyler florence for dinner and we got our sex and the city fix!

Check out the cheese plate and dinner recipe below…

broccoli & chicken bake with some extra amelie! April 17, 2008

Cook’s Country inspired Laura and I to create this savory and tasty dish for dinner that lasted a good two nights!

and for our entertainment pleasure, our first netflix rental: amelie- ALL IN FRENCH!! Mind you I do not speak french very well (or hardly at all for that matter…). But since the remote for our TV with built in DVD has been long gone since we moved in last year, all I could do was hit play…no subtitles for us lovely ladies! Nevertheless, amelie is the most delightful movie, even without supposed witty banter. :-D

chicken and rice…royale! April 11, 2008

Last night’s dinner was impeccably simple (and cheap!) and was perfect for our rush to get out the door to get to class, film class (no less!) to see the updated Casino Royale. And apparently in some way that movie has ties to feminist theories…but OH YUM Daniel Craig. (he was definitely “dessert”!)

And also apparently from my redundant dinner colorings, I like orange, white and green things!

tasty tasty brewer’s April 9, 2008

yay for tasty tasty cow! I took my mentor on his first trip ever to Brewer’s Art and we had our share of resurrections, ozzie’s and delirium tremens…BUT we also had some scrumptious meat and rosemary garlic french fries!

All I can say is, there are no better fries on this earth to go with a delicious burger as this!

rosemary & thyme chicken with extra marion March 28, 2008

How about some herb crusting??

Dianne’s photo inspired me to do the same with my rosemary and thyme I had left over from the tenderloin and braised ribs dishes from the weekend!

and I added a little bit of fresh parmesan too!

….and since it is Thursday, I ventured over to the campus of Towson University with Laurita to watch her Women in Film class, and what did we get to enjoy? None other than the freaking scariest movie ever! PSYCHO!

Well actually I did not think it was the scariest movie ever, rather comical at the end I think… and because I live under a rock (a cockeysville marble one to be exact) I had no idea the son was the one doing everything!
