Jacked Up Banana Bread

Yes this banana bread is CLEARLY jacked up! With peanut butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips, it is almost to die for. But who wants to die for banana bread?? Little Laurita decided to not eat the fresh bananas I got her from wegmans early last week and so they sat and sat and got nice and speckly brown… Then I went searching to do something about it and magically I made this!

This is some really tasty “health” food for sure. 😀 Sometimes when I’m eating it almost tastes and feels like coffee cake! But I would have to say the chocolate chips are the best part.

So its kind of hard to ruin banana bread so when I was making this I added a splash of this and dash of that!

3 ripe bananas
1.5 cups peanut butter
1 tsp baking soda
1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
dash of cinnamon
splash of vegetable oil
bigger splash of molasses
some milk

1) Preheat oven to 350 deg. Mash up the bananas well. I used a potato masher. Add the oil, sugar and molasses and mix! (Hand mixer does the trick…)
2) Then add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and peanut butter and mix some more! Once the mixture starts to thicken up, add enough milk so that the batter is mixable.
3) Pour mixture into loaf pan (generously coated with nonstick spray).
4) Bake for about 50 minutes, until a knife comes out clean. Enjoy!

  1. This looks reeeally good. I’m not a huge peanut butter fan but I have some bananas that should be nice and ripe by the end of the weekend and might make some banana chocolate chunk bread this weekend.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

  2. Much better than traditional banana bread! Banana, chocolate, and peanut butter are a good combination.

  3. The perfect combination!

  4. If it has fruit in it, it’s healthy. 😉

  5. I think “we” would love this right about now… YUM!

  6. Looks so rich. “bigger splash of molasses” – hehe…
