Slammin South Beach Sandwicherie

It was late on a Saturday night when we all had a craving for some real dinner after our Preakness party. Lea and Ryan have traveled to Miami recently and were raving about this sandwich shop they loved when they were there. Somehow they knew that a Baltimore shop had opened and it was walking distance from their apartment!! Usually when we go eating late at night we end up at Never on Sunday, but I was excited to get a healthier sandwich to fill my stomach grumblings.

I’m glad we went. The owner (I guess operations owner cause there are two other ones?) was super cool and was happy with me taking pictures and told us his whole story of how he just opened, how he got here and what’s going on with the shop now. The sandwich ingredients are really good quality and there’s just one little hiccup that I think they need to get over. Go check out my pictures below!

They have all of this funky hip hop wall design (I guess to make us feel like we are in Miami!)

And Lea needed to use the facility, which had a motorcycle in it momentarily, so she hopped on that and scooted around to use the room as intended and all was well in the world. Isn’t Lea a darling?? I think so.

Here’s my blurry shot of the menu, if you want to see a closer look go become their fan on Facebook and a nice clear one is listed!

Okay so now to the food. Let’s talk about the good, the better and the bad. The good is that they use super fresh ingredients and they load up their sandwiches with lots of fresh veggies. The better is that they have this slammin dijon champagne french vinaigrette and they give you alot of it to smear and dip with for their sandwiches. And that is some hella good dressing! I could probably drink the stuff…. And lastly the bad is that their baguette bread stinks. Someone told the owner that real Baltimore eaters (I guess everyday grab your lunch from the sandwich shop every day kind of folk) don’t like the crusty baguettes (that are typical french creation and in my local experience Wegman’s and Bonaparte breads are good at). Well Adam, I am here to proclaim- get some real freaking french baguettes!! I would like the sandwich much much much better. Okay?

Now this sandwich is what you call eating. Adam made this sandwich for the five of us to try gratis and I was thankful I got to taste a sandwich that I loved wholeheartedly. Tuna salad on croissant with melted cheese and fresh tomatoe and lettuce AND with the special sauce. Yep, this was tasty. I wish I had ordered this for my take home sandwich. Hmmm maybe I need to stop by there after we go to see Ceann at James Joyce tomorrow….

They also have a prosciutto and mozzerella sandwich that I wanted to order but they were all out of ingredients for the day! C’est la vie. But anyways, this place is hip, healthy and pretty darn tasty and its very nice that its a new late night spot (right near Bourbon Street and Sonar!) Go check it out if you have the munchies or just hunger at lunch time. 😀

  1. Ah, yes, bread is really important. Never heard of the place. Will have to check it out.

  2. The sandwiches look amazing. I love the fesh cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes on top.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I don’t know why but I’m just not a sandwich person. Rather have hot food….. Looks tasty though.

Leave me something sweet!
