A morning at Betty’s

Good monday morning to ya’ll! Hope your weekend was as food & fun filled & relaxing as mine! Actually Saturday was spent traipsing around with Jen and grandma getting our christmas shopping done and yesterday was full of online shopping for abuelita and me! Loved it! Love finding coupon codes… its an obsession! Another obsession is finding great places to eat brunch with my bunny!

Ned found this one (Betty’s) and he had recently taken his Grandma and Mama there for his grandmother’s birthday so he knew I would love it. This place is just lovely! Very homey, a little hipster & quaint, and produces some very good food!

Good food just for me! woo wee!! Go for the jump and check out some lovely ambience and fare!

This lovely painting sits behind the bar area. I loveeeeee that painting. Want to steal it!

Another fixture on the wall was a picture of the namesake, Betty!

Love this shot, and what a good morning it was! The specials were listed on that cheery sheet. Mmmm, I want some orange juice… maybe that would help me get back to work and get data out faster…

So Ned ordered the breakfast burrito – ‘flour tortilla stuffed with scrambled eggs, black beans, onions and peppers; topped with Monterey Jack cheese and served with Betty’s home fries and salsa and sour cream.’ I’m pretty sure he finished the whole thing! Just your basic tasty combination of good ingredients to make a perfectly filling breakfast!Β  I love how they include a slice of watermelon and orange on each plate. Very nice touch Betty’s!

I got the Luv sandwich – ‘Canadian peameal bacon on a toasted bagel with cream cheese, sliced red onion, sprouts and tomato; served with Betty’s home fries.’ I was seriously craving a bagel sandwich that morning.. probably the combination of sprouts, cream cheese, and an everything bagel shouted out to me! The canadian bacon was a nice change from American. Love that you can see so much of that country when you are in Buffalo (like the national anthem at the hockey game and the accents of the locals).

Another cool thing about Betty’s is the history of its’ building. This business was the tenth that had ever been housed in that building since 1929 and one of them included a lemon juice factory!

So readers, next time you are in Buffalo and need some substantial healthy food to kick the Labatt Blue induced hangover, go give some ‘luv’ to Betty’s and it will surely be returned. πŸ˜€

    • Hope you got your bagel fix Stephanie!

  3. Woah, that bagel shot is beautiful! It could be in a food magazine!

Leave me something sweet!
